Grandma's Baked Apples

These are real simple and real cozy.

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 5 apples peeled, cored, and sliced into 1/2" inch slices (about 5 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch allspice, cloves, and nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (I prefer Kerrygold)
  • 1/2 cup cream or half and half

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. In an oven-proof skillet over medium low heat, melt the butter.

  2. Add apples to a large bowl and add spices, lemon juice, and sugars. Toss well to coat.

  3. Add apple mixture to the skillet, and toss to coat in the butter. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are fork-tender. Remove from oven and serve warm, drizzled with cream or half and half. Enjoy!
